InsyaAllah, thanks. I'm Communication Engineering's student. So, in terms of networking, the connection of the wireless is limited.
Easy example; If you have several pipes in pvc pipe, the more pipe is been used, the slower the water will go out.
For the AP (Access Point), the max of user is around 50-60 user (based on our meeting with ITD), thus if one AP been used by more than 50-60 users. It will slow down the connection.
However, if more people used the internet to download anything (movies, music, games, etc.), the connectivity will be much lower (same, as if we open the pipe more, more water will go out, slower the water pouring in the other pipe).
Anyhow, ITD is in the progress to increase the speed because right now they are just focusing to be get connected only.

Mahallah Sidiq steady je tak da wifi. Dari aku first year sampai nak habis study. Bukan Mahallah Sidiq je, boleh kata semua mahallah lelaki la..
SRC dah puluh2 kali janji.Aspirasi ke WUFI ke.Tapi tak jalan-jalan.
Nak register subject ke mahallah ke suma nak web-based.E-learning lah bagai. Tapi connection cam siput. Tak kan tiap2 kali nak register subjek semua student kena pergi cafe ke cc for better connection. Nak kata xrepot dah bosan dah repot. kat ameenah ley plak bwat.mhallah lelaki yang byk ni, xpulak.

Sebabnya senang jer. Sis buat written report. Lagi satu, semua report berkaitan wireless telah pun dibentangkan secaa panjang lebar dalam report yang ada ditampal di board-board dan dalam blog sekiranya anda rujuk. WaAllahu'alam

Referendum telah pun dihantar kepada Rektor UIAM berkaitan isu-isu utama mahasiswa UIAM dan antaranya adalah berkenaan wireless.
ITD telah pun keluarkan kenyataan rasmi berkenaan wireless dan SRC pun telah terangkan berkali-kali. Untuk masa sekarang, ITD hanya fokus dapatkan connection dahulu (masih ada lagi beberapa tempat yang belum dapat wireless sepenuhnya) termasuk Kuantan, Nilai dan PJ.
Untuk performance, UIAM perlukan bajet yang sememangnya besar. Tapi sekurang-kurangnya, bermula batch SRC 07/08, UIAM telah dapat nikmati WiFi dan SRC 09/10 sambungan kepada mahallah. Sedangkan sebenarnya perjuangan untuk mendapatkan WiFi sebelum batch SRC 07/08 lagi, semuanya mengambil masa sekiranya melibatkan bajet.
Sekurangnya kita bersyukur agar Allah tambah nikmat yang Allah beri InsyaAllah.
